Alaska Sports Hall of Fame: Mission

The Alaska Sports Hall of Fame is a 501(c)3 non profit organization established March 17, 2004.

Mission

TEACH: To educate alaskans and visitors to the state about the people, events, and moments in alaskan sport that brought distinction to the state.
HONOR: To honor and preserve the memory of the significant people, events, and moments in alaskan sport.
INSPIRE: To promote a healthy youth population by providing functions, exhibits, and activities that will inspire children to strive for success in their own lives.

Cultivate: a greater sense of cultural identity among the people of alaska.
Present: a historical and cultural perspective of alaska and its people to visitors.
Promote: fitness and heatlh awareness, healthy youth, access to positive role models.
Offer: vocational development opportunities to alaska’s youth.
Evoke: a sense of pride in alaskans by recognizing accomplishments in the realm of sport.
Develop: networks among like-minded educational and social organizations in alaska.
Act: as an ambassador and an advocate for all positive attributes of sport in alaska.
