The moment

What is your greatest moment in sports?

"My greatest moment in sports thus far has been in a 3200m race at the 2000 Alaska State Track Championships.  When the race started, one of my competitors bolted out to the lead and quickly put distance between us.  By the 1600m mark I was a full 50 meters behind.  Everyone watching the race had me already beaten.  No one figured I could make up such a large gap with only three laps to go.  However, I was confident the whole race, and never doubted that I would catch the leader.  As we came into the last lap I was closing fast, only six seconds back.  I put on a big surge and caught the leader going around the final curve.  I pulled out beside her and sprinted away, to win the race in a personal best time.  Even when no one else believed I could do it, I knew I could.”
