Whitman College volleyball players Olivia Nielson and Courtney Brewer of Anchorage keyed tonight’s four-game victory over Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash.
The senior middle blockers led the Missionaries at net with 10 kills apiece in a 25-18, 19-25, 25-17, 25-20 victory in Northwest Conference league play, snapping a five-game losing streak.
Nielson was also the team’s blocks leader with eight.

Nielson and Brewer are among the leaders in the Northwest Conference in blocks.
Nielson, of Dimond High fame, is second with 46 total blocks in 9 matches. She also averages 1.56 kills per game.
Brewer, of South High fame, ranks third with 38 blocks, including a league-best 12 solo blocks.
Brewer also ranks ninth in attack percentage [.219] to go along with 2.03 kills per game.
